1945 Dough Box

1945 Dough Box

Coral red dough box with a “1945” engraving on the front which probably indicates the year this piece was made. The dough box is divided into two parts. The lid on top encloses the space where the dough had to be kept. The box-shaped space was ideal to knead the dough without spilling and wasting much flour. The lid was crucial in order to keep the dough warm and dry. The part below was used to keep kitchen tools and opens thanks to a door. The planks of the piece are interlocked without using nails. Salvaged on the Balkans.
