Aguiar’s objective is to focus the attention of the observer not on the piece as a whole but on the different parts that compose it. The fragmentation helps us to concentrate on the details and the shades that form our life in order to comprehend it as a whole. Only once these fragments are understood, the observer can fill the gaps between them and put the pieces back together.
