An antique XIX century yeast pots from Grottaglie, a small town in Puglia famous for its production on ceramics. These ceramics have all their original lids and were used to preserve yeast. The were decorated with splashes of green as that was believed to disturb flies and insects and prevent them from flying near the pots and their precious content.
